A Sociedade Brasileira de Melhoramento de Plantas – Regional do Rio de Janeiro, o Núcleo de Estudos de Genética e Melhoramento de Plantas – Ganho Genético/UENF e a Coordenação do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Genética e Melhoramento de Plantas da Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (UENF), convidam estudantes de graduação, pós-graduação e profissionais da área de melhoramento de plantas para participarem do V Encontro de Genética e Melhoramento de Plantas do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (EGMP) – O compromisso do Melhoramento Genético Vegetal com os Objetivos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável, da ONU.
O evento será realizado de forma on-line nos dias 23/11, 25/11/2020 e 27/11/2020 (14:00h pm) pela plataforma:
O Evento constitui em uma oportunidade para que especialistas possam debater, com profundidade, as rotinas, ferramentas e produtos de programas de melhoramento genético, em consonância com ações transformadoras do Mundo, de acordo com a Agenda 2030 para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável. O Planeta inteiro está focando o desenvolvimento sustentável do Globo Terrestre, visto que, em breve, seremos 9 bilhões de pessoas vivendo sob a maior frequência de eventos climáticos extremos, com agravamento de desigualdade social e de gênero, pobreza, fome, degradação da biodiversidade e recursos limitados. O Evento visa também, a aprofundar nas principais alternativas biométricas e nas “ômicas” disponíveis, que possibilitam maximizar a eficiência dos ganhos genéticos em programas de melhoramento, bem como no desenvolvimento de novas cultivares, tão necessárias para o avanço da agricultura de forma sustentável.
Dentre os palestrantes e debatedores do Evento encontram-se renomes, em âmbito nacional e internacional, que estarão apresentando pesquisas científicas em consonância dos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável da ONU. The event provides an opportunity for specialists to discuss, in-depth, the routines, tools, and products of genetic breeding programs, in line with the transformative actions of the world, following the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The entire planet is focusing on the sustainable development of the Terrestrial Globe, as soon we will be 9 billion people living under the growing frequency of extreme weather events, with worsening social and gender inequality, poverty, hunger, degradation of biodiversity and limited resources. The event also aims to deepen the main biometric alternatives and the omics available, which make it possible to maximize the efficiency of genetic gains in breeding programs, as well as in the development of new cultivars, so necessary for the advancement of agriculture in a sustainable way.
